The Jack Pine Lodge in Manistique, Michigan, has a rich history dating back to 1936 when it was reportedly won in a poker game by Blaine Brannon. Brannon built a new lodge near the original site in 1945 using locally sourced materials, maintaining much of its original charm with unique woodwork and furnishings crafted from pine roots and stumps. The lodge has been a family tradition for generations, particularly for the Knaffla family, who have been visiting since 1946. It’s surrounded by the Hiawatha National Forest, offering access to over 55 lakes and embodying a connection to the outdoor lifestyle, making it a beloved destination for hunters, fishermen, and nature enthusiasts.
